Mississippi Burning

The film is about an actual criminal event in 1964.  It concerns two FBI who were sent to find out what happened to a missing group of civil rights leaders.  The leader’s bodies were found after a tip from an informant called Mr. X by the FBI.  40 years later, Mr. X was identified as a Mississippi highway patrolman.

Gene Hackman and Willen Dafoe

The retired 92 year old Gene Hackman won two Academy Awards during his six decades in films.  He was also a novelist.  At 81, on his Trek e-bike, he was hit by a car.  Also, he got unfavorable publicity for his slapping of a homeless person.  A vocal Democrat, he was on President Nixon’s enemy list.

Willen Dafoe was born in Appleton, WI and many of his family members are healthcare providers.  He has stared in over 100 films.  He is lately known for his rolls in the Spider Man Series of movies.  In the latest one, “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, they hid his return part in the film while filming from everyone.  Even Tom Holland, playing Spiderman did not know he was in the film until almost running into him on the set.

ABOUT WHERE THIS POSTER CAME FROM

These promotional film materials are part of many items acquired from the Cairo Home Movies and Camera Shop. Please check often as many will become available in the near future.

BACKSTORY:  Frank G Cairo, Owner of Cairo Home Movies

Frank Cairo moved from the Bronx, New York to Kenosha, WI in 1943. The store was open until 1997 with his passing.  In addition to cameras, Frank loved movies and movie stars. He began collecting 8, 16 and 35mm films, some in Italian.  Eventually, Cairo Home Movies became the largest private and rental film collection in Wisconsin. In summers, there were free outdoor movie nights for neighborhood kids. Not satisfied with only the movies, he eventually started collecting movie posters, catalogs and books.  This collection includes Fox Warner Home Video posters and promotion materials. Look for the sale of many of these items in the coming weeks/months.

CONDITION NOTE: NEW, does not appear to have been used/displayed. Both the  tri-fold and the home video movie poster have vivid colors. All the materials were designed to fit perfectly in the mailing envelope to avoid negative fold creases.  Likewise, all the items inside the envelope are in what appears to be new condition.  The mailing envelop is intact but discolored from age.  While the Poster appears to be new, it has a 2 small tears (primarily on the folded corners) which I saw when unfolded just to take the listing pictures (most likely from age of the paper). If framed by the buyer at some point in the future, many of these small tears would probably be hard to see once the poster is carefully flattened in a poster frame. This is an unframed poster and it will be carefully packaged so it can be safely shipped. This listing does not include any user documentation about its authenticity. Images are of the exact item you will receive. Please see all high resolution detailed images (which are zoom-able) of this listing to know what you are purchasing.
