BACKSTORY: Frank G Cairo, Owner of Cairo Home Movies
Frank Cairo moved from the Bronx, New York to Kenosha, WI in 1943. The store was open until 1997 with his passing. In addition to cameras, Frank loved movies and movie stars. He began collecting 8, 16 and 35mm films, some in Italian. Eventually, Cairo Home Movies became the largest private and rental film collection in Wisconsin. In summers, there were free outdoor movie nights for neighborhood kids.
