Vintage 1975 BYTE Small Systems Journal Magazine Issues 1 , 2, 3, 4 Rare

Up for sale is a rare and highly collectible set of the first four issues of BYTE Magazine from 1975, the pioneering publication dedicated to the emerging world of microcomputers and small systems.

  • Issue 1 (September 1975) - "The World's Greatest Toy"
  • Issue 2 (October 1975) - "Build a Graphics Display"
  • Issue 3 (November 1975) - "Is This Next?"
  • Issue 4 (December 1975) - "Assembling an Altair"

BYTE Magazine was founded by Carl Helmers and Wayne Green, and it quickly became the go-to resource for enthusiasts, hobbyists, and professionals in the burgeoning personal computer industry. These early issues cover topics such as the Altair 8800, graphics displays, assemblers, and more, providing a fascinating glimpse into the birth of the microcomputer revolution.

Approx. Dimensions: 10-7/8" T x 8-3/8" W

Sold as is. No warranty from seller. No Returns.

CONDITION NOTE: Used, but in excellent condition for their age. Overall front and back covers are in great shape, except for edge and corner wear which is consistent with magazine of this age, and some residue from address labels that fell off from age (see pictures). A few contents pages also have some label residue (see pictures). It appears all pages are present (I didn't see any obvious sheets torn out), but do not have the time to check for every page in every magazine (see pictures). Vintage magazines may show slight page discoloring from age, wear, creasing, staining, possible rips, tears, bending, etc. (see pictures). See full description and detailed pictures (zoom-able) to know what you are purchasing.

Short Background on the Publisher:

Green Publishing Inc. was founded by Wayne Green, a well-known publisher of amateur radio magazines like 73. In 1975, Green teamed up with Carl Helmers to launch BYTE Magazine, capitalizing on the growing interest in personal computers and microprocessors. BYTE quickly became an influential publication, covering the latest developments in hardware, software, and programming.
