Near Complete Set of 1965 Donruss Hot Rod Magazine Series 1 Spec Sheet Trading Cards Conditions of Cards Vary from Good to Very Good to Excellent

Own a piece of automotive history with this near complete set of 58 of the 66 1965 Donruss Hot Rod Spec Sheet trading cards! These iconic cards feature classic hot rods, custom builds, and racing legends, each complete with detailed specs on the back. Perfect for car enthusiasts and trading card collectors alike!

The Series 1 set has 66 cards (this listing includes one each of 58 of the 66 cards (only missing 8 cards) along with 39 duplicates. 

Based on internet research, it appears that this set was issued by Donruss in 1965 under the title "Hot Rod Bubble Gum, Series 1" but it is referred to with the “Spec Sheet” title that is on the back of every card. There are several cards of well-known drag racers in the set. Card #49 is the rookie card of Bobby Unser (one card included), a three-time Indy 500 winner. Card #59 is Motor Sports Hall of Fame inductee drag racer Connie Kalitta (2 cards included). Card fronts include a full-color photo, with a thin white border. The card backs offer a short writeup (specs) for the picture on the front.

As you can see from the pictures, the cards vary in color printing quality - a common problem with cards in the 1960s (see pictures). Cards have not been rated. Cards do not come with any of the original packaging, bubble gum, or other paperwork. Card was always in a smoke free home.
